Slow Cooker Chili

homemade slow cooker chili with buckwheat cornbread
Yields1 Serving
 1 lb ground beef, venison, or turkey
 1 onion, chopped
 2 garlic cloves, minced
 1 cup green bell pepper, chopped
 1 cup celery, chopped
 4 cups kidney beans
 4 cups diced tomatoes
 2 tbsp chili powder
 ½ tbsp honey
 ½ tbsp molasses
 1 tsp salt
 1 cup corn
 1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
Optional Ways to Spice it Up! (Choose one...)
 1 fresh jalapeno pepper, minced
 ¼ tsp ground cayenne pepper
 1 tsp hot sauce

Brown meat in a skillet over medium heat. Add onion, garlic, pepper, and celery and sauté for about 5 minutes. Place everything in a slow cooker.

Add remaining ingredients to slow cooker and cook on low for 8 hours. Serve with buckwheat cornbread. Enjoy!
