
Preheat oven to 350F. Grease an 8x8" pan and set aside.
Combine dry ingredients (flour, cocoa powder, baking soda, salt, and cinnamon) in a large bowl. Stir with a whisk until combined.
In a separate bowl, combine wet ingredients (applesauce, yogurt, maple syrup, eggs, and vanilla). Stir with a whisk until combined. Pour wet ingredients into dry ingredient bowl and stir with a spoon until there are no longer any dry spots in the batter. Pour batter into prepared baking dish.
If desired, sprinkle toppings over the batter and press in slightly. Bake in the preheated oven for 30 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean. Remove from oven and cool in pan. Enjoy!
