Winter Sangria

Holiday Sangria
Yields4 Servings
 ¼ cup pomegranate seeds
 1 orange, peeled and cut into bite-sized pieces (or 2-3 clementines, peeled and segmented)
 1 pear, sliced thinly
 1 apple, sliced thinly
 1 tbsp minced fresh ginger
 1 cinnamon stick
 ½ cup blanco tequila
 ¼ cup Cointreau
 ½ cup frozen cranberries
 ½ cup citrus-flavored sparkling water (or ginger- or citrus-flavored kombucha)
 1 bottle dry red wine (such as Cabernet Sauvignon)

Combine fresh fruit, ginger, cinnamon, tequila, and Cointreau and muddle slightly. Refrigerate, covered, for at least 4 hours or overnight, stirring occasionally.

When ready to serve, divide frozen cranberries amongst the glasses and top with fresh fruit and alcohol mixture. Top off the glasses with red wine and a splash of sparkling water or kombucha. Serve and enjoy!
